About The Position

This role is responsible for participating in all food production to ensure high standards of quality, consistency, aesthetics, and taste for banquet events. The Banquet Chef will prepare quality dishes, create banquet and social menus annually, and maintain exceptional production knowledge with attention to detail in plate design and taste. A solid understanding of food products and culinary techniques is essential, along with the ability to train the banquet team. Responsibilities include maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment, ordering culinary and food supplies, monitoring production and quality, and researching/developing new recipes. Other related duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience with menu design.
  • 3-5 years Banquet Chef experience.
  • Able to hold properly and efficiently use an assortment of sharp knives as appropriate for each of these specific uses.
  • Consistently build food plates with main component, sauce, and garnish as required.
  • An ability to work well in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
  • Attention to detail, an ability to multi-task and time management skills.
  • Must have extensive experience in various food cultures.
  • Must have artistic ability and creativity to create finished plates that are eye appealing.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Well developed and multi-tasking, organizational skills, and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Candidate must be dependable and reliable.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in culinary arts from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus, however, not required.

  • Researches and develops new and unique recipes.
