About The Position

Compass Group is hiring a full-time Banquet/Catering Chef at California State University-San Bernardino. This position supports catering and special events and directs, coordinates, and evaluates kitchen, food-production, and food-service associates. The schedule is full time, with days and hours that may vary; open availability is required. The position pays $25.00 to $27.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the opening is filled. The role oversees and participates in food preparation, cooking, and service; ensures food-handling, sanitation, and customer-service standards; and helps maintain food quality, presentation, portion control, inventory, and service schedules. The position also supervises hourly kitchen associates and helps develop recipes and menus. Because the position serves an educational facility, work may be reduced or paused during school breaks, potentially resulting in unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at another location during break periods.
