Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in Banquets in a high-volume Hotel chain.
  • Previous experience in a hotel industry preferred.
  • Proficient in the English language.
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Excellent guest service skills, as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills -Outgoing personality.
  • Able to stay calm in difficult situations.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Meet/exceed customer expectations and answer all related inquiries.
  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Working knowledge PC skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, maintain manual dexterity to operate job related equipment, such as telephones, copiers, etc., withstand various activities such as frequent walking, and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays and weekends.
  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, receive direction, and provide feedback when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan, and direct the banquet operations including service, and set-up of service.
  • Works the front of the house to ensure that all customer requests and expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Adhere to the Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance.
  • Supervises all aspects of the banquet services.
  • Supervises staff during set up, service and breakdown periods.
  • Presents guest checks for signature and collect payment, when needed, at the end of each function following proper control procedures.
  • Checks the rooms at least 30 minutes before function begins to ensure that all needs requested by meeting planners or hosts are met.
  • Ensures that all setups are completed at the time requested.
  • Interact with customers, making recommendations.
  • Bid guests farewell by using guest’s name when known and inviting them to come back.
  • Greet guests in a friendly, positive manner and make them feel at home.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction in an effort to attract repeat business.
  • Assists the Banquet Manager in completing and forwarding proper reports to Accounting, Front Office, Food & Beverage and payroll departments.
  • Assists the Banquet Manager to ensure the proper maintenance, repair and storage of our Banquet equipment utilizing and filing proper work order forms.
  • Maintains banquet facilities at a high standard of neatness and cleanliness.
  • Ensures that the servers and houseman conduct themselves in a professional manner and trained properly to ensure a high quality of service.
  • Ensures that service personnel are always in uniform and well groomed.
  • Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times and to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
