About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join their team at Rand Tower, Minneapolis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. This role involves directing the setup and preparation of banquet rooms, serving and clearing tables, and leading hourly banquet food and beverage servers and housemen. The Banquet Captain acts as the property's representative to banquet guests, coordinating room setup and food and beverage service to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize revenue. Requirements

  • 2-4 years of food service experience in Banquet service.
  • Experience in a 4-star, 5-star venue with synchronized service.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up for functions including tables, silverware, napkin folding, drink preparation, and table centerpieces.
  • Serve food and beverages, carry trays, and clear tables.
  • Break down functions by bussing tables, storing linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
  • Clean banquet storage areas and organize storerooms.
  • Set up AM or PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
  • Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.
  • Perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and stocking workstations.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, and other items from tables/countertops and take them to the kitchen.
  • Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finished.
  • Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients, considering special requests and dietary issues.
  • Provide general property information and offer a warm welcome/farewell to guests.
  • Interact with staff professionally and assist other departments.
  • Perform final quality checks on food and beverage items before serving.
  • Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service needs.
  • Address guest issues promptly and with high concern.
  • Aid other events and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, suspicious persons).
