The Banner System Administrator is a key member of the SIP Management Team within Information Technology Services, responsible for the administration, optimization, and security of the Banner student information system. This role ensures Banner operates reliably, securely, and in alignment with institutional goals and evolving business needs. Reporting to the Director of SIP Management, the Banner System Administrator collaborates closely with project managers, business analysts, functional and technical teams, integration specialists, report writers, trainers, and subject matter experts. The role supports the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of Banner and related system integrations, overseeing system configuration, data processing, security, third-party tools, upgrades, and administrative functions. The primary focus is to maintain a stable, high-performing system environment while delivering effective technical support and continuous system improvement. This position is based out of the university’s home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to perform the essential functions of this job (e.g., Laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise.
