Banking Specialist As a Banking Specialist at Flaherty & Collins Properties, you’ll play an important role in managing our banking relationships, supporting cash movement and account administration, strengthening financial controls, and helping our Accounting team make better use of technology and automation. This is a role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems, and financial institutions—and who takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll work closely with Accounting leadership and team members while also serving as a key point of contact with our banking partners.

Requirements

Approximately 3 years of relevant experience in treasury, cash management, banking administration, or a related area.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis and reporting.
An understanding of internal controls related to cash movement, banking access, and approval workflows.
Strong Excel skills and analytical abilities.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate needs and information to external partners.
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work collaboratively with Accounting teams, leadership, and outside banking partners.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate company-specific financial systems.

Nice To Haves

An Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Manage relationships with nationwide banking and financial institution partners.
Facilitate and monitor cash movement and corporate account balances.
Support streamlined banking compliance processes and requirements.
Manage bank account administration, including account openings, closures, and signatory updates.
Monitor and maintain Accounting team access to online banking platforms.
Manage and process daily Positive Pay file uploads.
Maintain accurate banking relationship information, contact lists, bank fee analysis, and related documentation.
Strengthen approval workflows and internal controls related to cash movement, wires, ACH payments, Positive Pay, account transfers, and banking platform access.
Scope, implement, and optimize banking system tools and capabilities.
Partner with Accounting team members to implement automation tools and improve system interfaces with banking institutions.
Optimize the use of Positive Pay across banking institutions.
Analyze banking processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and accuracy.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting teams and leadership on banking-related initiatives.
Assist with special projects and other initiatives as needed.
