About The Position
The Banking Specialist I position is an entry-level role that assists in the daily operations of branch offices, including processing deposits, withdrawals, and other financial interactions while providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position, averaging 37.50 - 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays. As a float position, the specialist will travel between New Valley Bank and Trust (NVBT) locations in 16 Acres, Monarch Place, and West Springfield as needed, with West Springfield serving as the home branch. Employees are expected to adhere to all NVBT policies, procedures, laws, rules, and compliance regulations, exercising good judgment and ethical standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Banking or cash handling experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Accurately processes teller transactions, related services, and procedures.
- Sells and cross-sells bank products.
- Assists with balancing and auditing responsibilities of vaults and ATMs.
- Assists in daily branch operations within the scope of duties.
- Handles currency, transactions, and confidential information responsibly.
- Maintains security of the cash drawer.
- Provides oversight of the cash drawer between the vault and teller line.
- Assists with the organization and facilitation of branch and security meetings.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure quality and efficiency of service.
- May assist in the training of new branch staff.
- Adheres to established New Valley Bank and Trust customer service standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
