About The Position

The Banking Operations Supervisor – Driver Financial Services assists in the daily operation of the Driver Services department by overseeing key departmental financial functions and supervising two Driver Services employees. This position supports the efficient administration of Owner Operator (O/O) settlements, Over-the-Road (OTR) maintenance and repair processes, fuel card administration, O/O benefits, ECM reporting, and the My Truck Program. The Supervisor promotes operational efficiency, ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and serves as a resource for drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with Owner Operator settlements, transportation accounting, fuel card administration, escrow accounting, and ECM reporting.
  • Experience in banking operations, branch support, financial services, account reconciliation, payment processing, or cash-equivalent controls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, coach, and support two Driver Services employees, providing daily guidance, workload management, and performance feedback.
  • Process and oversee Owner Operator settlement functions, including settlement checks, direct deposits, EFS issuance and billing, fuel billing, credit and debit requests, escrow accounting, edit list and journal reviews, and 1099 audit verification.
  • Apply banking operations practices to financial transactions by ensuring proper authorization, accurate deposits and disbursements, account balancing, cash-equivalent controls, and timely resolution of transaction discrepancies.
  • Monitor driver and Owner Operator account activity in a manager capacity, reviewing balances, deductions, escrow activity, benefit-related transactions, and exception items to support accurate account management.
  • Coordinate and review Over-the-Road (OTR) maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely repair payments and accurate recovery of expenses through damage recoveries and driver deductions.
  • Resolve operational issues with Safety Service Leaders (SSLs), drivers, vendors, and Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), escalating concerns when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, clients, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Oversee the daily administration of the fuel card program and ensure accurate processing of fuel invoices.
  • Coordinate Driver Services participation in Driver Orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Perform account reconciliation duties similar to banking operations, including reviewing statements, validating payment activity, researching variances, maintaining supporting documentation, and ensuring financial records are complete and accurate.
  • Compile ECM data and prepare reports for senior management, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
  • Conduct twice-monthly reviews of terminated driver accounts, escrow balances, and coordinate transfers of applicable funds to the Accounts Payable department.
  • Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, workflows, and customer service while supporting implementation of process improvements.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the acting department lead in the absence of the Driver Services Manager, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
