About The Position

West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns for our Banking Practice. As consolidation, regulation, and technology continue to reshape the banking landscape, there are exciting opportunities to partner with clients on strategy, transformation, and delivery initiatives. As a Banking Consulting Intern, you will work across business, technology, and management consulting engagements, gaining valuable exposure to multiple facets of the financial services industry. With consolidation, regulation, technological advances, and significant market level changes shaping the landscape, interns can gain valuable experience and exposure to different aspects of the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%)
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs

  • Majors with a focus in: Business Administration, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and applying data to analyze business problems
  • Interest in the financial services industry, including commercial banking, retail banking, and banking technology such as leading Fintech companies, as well as traditional core technology providers

Responsibilities

  • Apply personal and corporate knowledge to tailor solutions and build partnerships, empowering clients to gain competitive advantage in their markets.
  • Support business and technology executives to solve key challenges within the financial services industry early on in your career through research, analysis, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Gain exposure to one or more of the following segments: Commercial Banking, Treasury management, Risk, regulation, and compliance, Mergers and acquisitions, Retail Banking, Banking Technology and AI Enablement, Wealth Management.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
