About The Position

Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the banking center. Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers. Ensures that customers are promptly and professionally served. Trains, directs, and supervises lobby and teller staff. Ensures banking center transactions, expenses, and profitability are in line with Bank standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank services and products.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Minimum three years related experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Well organized.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
  • Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.
  • Able to perform very simple algebra.
  • Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
  • Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
  • Ability to conduct training, communicates at panel discussions, and make professional presentations.

  • Ensuring that customers are promptly and professionally served.
  • Training, directing, and supervising lobby and teller staff.
  • Ensuring banking center transactions, expenses, and profitability are in line with Bank standards.
  • Supervising work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations.
  • Ensuring banking center security by ensuring all security procedures are followed by associates.
  • Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with established Bank policies and with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring weekly logs are completed correctly.
  • Insuring monthly and quarterly audit requirements are met.
  • Supervising and assisting with customer service functions. Assisting in New Accounts and on Teller line as needed.
  • Cross-selling Bank services.
  • Implementing changes to established policies and procedures within the banking center.
  • Ensuring that all banking center transactions are balanced at the close of each day.
  • Overseeing individual accountability for the handling of cash and assisting Tellers in resolving balancing problems.
  • Controlling and handling daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Periodically verifying cash in possession of Tellers and cash on the premises.
  • Providing leadership through effective objective setting and communication.
  • Directly supervising lobby and teller staff. Ensuring that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained.
  • Determining work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
  • Conducting regular meetings with banking center employees to inform and train. Discussing areas needing improvement and changes in procedure.
  • Ensuring that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Completing orientation of new employees in overall banking center procedures. Performing cross training as necessary. Conducting security training.
  • Ensuring that personnel are effective and optimally used.
  • Tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals. Formulating and implementing corrective actions as needed. Recommending promotions for associates as appropriate. Providing leadership training to associates seeking management opportunities.
  • Approving all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time sheets for each banking center associate. Keeping accurate payroll and attendance records.
  • Ensuring that customer’s' requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handling customer’s complaints.
  • Ensuring that customers are informed of Bank services and policies. Counseling customers regarding their financial needs and services requested.
  • Ensuring that the Bank's quality reputation is maintained and projected.
  • Ensuring that banking center operations are well coordinated.
  • Insuring deposit growth of the bank.
  • Establishing sales goals/incentives to coincide with goals of the bank.
  • Directing, coaching and leading staff’s participation in sales goals and incentive plans.
  • Managing and overseeing expenses. Pursuing cost-saving measures.
  • Continually seeking ways to improve banking center operations and productivity to meet established goals.
  • Preparing periodic banking center activity reports and making recommendations to management for improvements.
  • Ensuring that proper maintenance and general housekeeping of the building, grounds, work areas, desks, and equipment is carried out, including snow and ice removal.
  • Ensuring that adequate supplies, forms, and equipment are available for personnel.
  • Instituting prudent safety measures.
  • Keeping management informed of banking center activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems. Requesting assistance when necessary.
  • Filling in and performing duties in banking center positions as needed.
  • Attending assigned training sessions and staying current on new operational procedures.
