About The Position

Banking Associates are responsible for managing individual cash drawers, processing customer transactions, and maintaining teller cash drawer limits. They assist customers with account maintenance, service issues, and inquiries, and are involved in various bank functions such as night drop, notary services, and ATM duties. A key aspect of the role is cross-selling bank products, achieving individual sales goals, and referring clients to other departments. The position demands exceptional customer service, flexibility in adapting to changing environments, and staying updated with technology and remote services. Punctuality and attendance are crucial, as is the ability to interact face-to-face with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment. Additional duties include processing loose coin, maintaining the coin machine, facilitating cash shipments, assisting in balancing vault and ATM cash, ordering branch supplies, assisting customers with safe deposit boxes, logging activity in Synapsys, and serving as a liaison for special projects.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in computer/software training.
  • Proficiency in product specific training (e.g. IRA’s).
  • Proficiency in quality customer service, including telephone etiquette.
  • Proficiency in bank security.
  • Proficiency in Regulation CC (Procedures for placing holds on checks).
  • Proficiency in HR training.
  • Proficiency in Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Proficiency in Privacy Act.
  • Proficiency in other compliance training as assigned.
  • Well refined verbal and written communications skills to effectively and efficiently execute their duties.
  • Effective communication with subordinates, management, and customers.
  • Proficiency in the above listed “training” requirements will be expected of each Banking Associate.
  • Each Banking Associate will be required to pass a product proficiency exam annually and adhere to teller balancing standard requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage individual cash drawer and process customer transactions
  • Maintain established teller cash drawer limits (top & bottom) and adhere to the work quality standards as outlined in the Teller Balancing Standards.
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, service issues and inquiries to include but not limited to change of address, debit card servicing, stop payment, etc.)
  • Assist with all bank functions (e.g. night drop, notary, ATM duties)
  • Cross-sell additional bank products other than those requested by the customer.
  • Achieve stated individual sales goals.
  • Refer clients to other departments
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to frequent changing environments, particularly important for Banking Associates who often work outside of their home branches.
  • Be up to date with all technology and remote services.
  • Attendance: Reporting to work on time and on scheduled day at your scheduled location.
  • Face-to-face interaction with co-workers and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Perform other branch specific tasks as defined by the Banking Center Manager or the Assistant Banking Center Manager.
  • Process loose coin and maintain the coin machine.
  • Facilitates cash shipments/orders
  • Assist in balancing vault and ATM cash.
  • Order branch supplies as required by branch activities.
  • Assist customers in entering their safe deposit boxes.
  • Log activity and customer interaction in Synapsys
