About The Position

The Banker position involves exchanging chips, coins, currency, tickets, and coupons with other Bankers and verifying settlements with Cage Cashiers. This role also includes verifying and preparing currency and coins for ticket redemption kiosks and cash dispensers, as well as verifying check cashing and cash advance settlements from Cage Cashiers. The Banker will oversee the activity of their assigned cage or vault. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Certification.
  • Two (2) years’ cashiering experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino team members.
  • Ability to use cage equipment: 10 Key calculator, money sorters and counters.
  • Ability to receive and verify large amounts of currency, coins and chips.
  • Ability to complete moderately complex arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to pass cashier’s test.
  • Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and overtime.
  • Ability to work under high pressure and stress conditions.
  • Ability to exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization.
  • Ability to speak accurately and clearly in public.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting methods, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the general public.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year casino cage cashiering experience preferred.
  • Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently perform all Cashier/Vault duties.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Sandia Casino and Cage/Vault Department policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain necessary records and adhere to Title 31 and W2-G reporting procedures.
  • Verify and record Cashier’s settlements, including customer E-checks and paper checks, credit and/or debit card cash advances.
  • Verify and record all incoming and disbursements of Jackpot Safekeeping.
  • Operate self-service coin redemption machines and coin counters.
  • Perform daily drops and maintain the coin redemption machine.
  • Verify and maintain the inventory of promotional chips when running the cage.
  • Ensure proper customer transactions, including cash/chip exchange and conversion.
  • Open and close the cages and vault as necessary.
  • Maintain adequate cash on hand while determining proper cash flows.
  • Sell safe deposit boxes and log customer’s usage.
  • Verify and record all cash sales from retail outlets.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits for the casino.
  • Prepare daily tip deposits for casino, food and beverage, resort and hotel employees.
  • Sell and redeem gift certificates.
  • Sell and record tournament entries.
  • Record slot jackpot payouts.
  • Maintain adequate wrapped, bagged, and racked reserves of currency, coin and chips.
  • Verify large cash, chip, and coin transfers daily.
  • Forward all paperwork for the assigned shift to the Revenue Audit Department.
  • Ensure the proper flow of casino assets to each department as required.
  • Oversee the activity of assigned Cage Cashiers.
  • Verify and safeguard the assigned bankroll.
  • Report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
