About The Position

Depending on experience, you could be the next Client Service Representative II, III, or Senior level Client Service Representative. This role involves opening new consumer and business accounts, processing transactions, assisting clients with account selection, actively cross-selling the Bank's products and services, maintaining and closing all account types, performing branch clerical duties, and promoting business through good client relations. The position ensures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years banking teller experience required (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Advanced experience with opening consumer accounts and complex business accounts required (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Minimum of three years strong customer relations skills and the ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative and positive manner (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Possesses strong knowledge of basic banking regulations such as BSA and Information Security (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Must possess excellent judgment and the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
  • Must be proficient in using Word, Excel, and Outlook applications and banking programs.
  • Minimum of 2 years banking teller experience required (New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Experience with opening consumer accounts and basic business accounts required (New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Minimum of two years strong customer relations skills and the ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive manner (New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Possesses working knowledge of basic banking regulations such as BSA and Information Security (New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Minimum of one year of banking teller experience required (New Accounts/CSR II).
  • Beginner experience with opening consumer accounts required (New Accounts/CSR II).
  • Minimum of one year of strong customer relations skills and the ability to communicate and work well with employees and customers in a cooperative, positive manner (New Accounts/CSR II).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Beginner experience opening basic business accounts is preferred (New Accounts/CSR II).

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interviews and profiles customers to recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Actively takes advantage of all sales opportunities, cross-selling bank products, and services to new and existing customers, ensuring recommended products meet the customer's needs, and referring clients to appropriate staff and/or partner(s) as needed.
  • Generates new business to assist in meeting bank profitability and branch goals.
  • Effectively partners with other business lines within the Bank to identify sales opportunities and provide an outstanding customer experience.
  • Opens and supports consumer and business checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, and Trust & Estate Accounts.
  • Supports business clients with essential Treasury Services, i.e., RDC (Check Scanner), Armored, and Courier Service.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Maintains knowledge and stays abreast of applicable New Account laws, procedures, proper account titling, and required documentation.
  • Ensures all documentation is approved and uploaded in the core system.
  • Processes teller transactions as needed and maintains an excellent balancing record.
  • Responds to client inquiries and requests regarding account.
  • Adheres to Banking regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Gathers data and processes various reports (e.g., currency transactions, returned items, overdrafts, callbacks, etc.) as assigned.
  • Provides expedient and courteous service to all clients both in person and on the phone.
  • Consistently models exemplary customer service.
  • Actively listens to customers and maintains a friendly, positive, professional attitude.
  • Resolves difficult situations with creativity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Proactively identifies and retains "at-risk" customers.
  • Looks for ways to pleasantly surprise customers, i.e., doing something above and beyond their expectations that makes them feel special.
  • Completes a minimum of 10 hours of CRA volunteer hours per year.
  • Processes Daily Large Transaction report and scans to Compliance Department by established cutoff time (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Approves large transactions for teller staff up to assigned limit (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Provides supervisor override for transactions requiring supervisor review (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Supports Branch Manager or their backup with various assigned duties (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
  • Handles difficult client situations in the absence of the Branch Manager or their backup (Senior New Accounts/CSR III).
