About The Position

As a Banker at Woodforest National Bank, you will serve as a frontline ambassador, delivering the Woodforest Experience. You will focus on building and growing retail customer relationships through exceptional service, proactive marketing of products and services, and consistent execution of operational excellence. The Banker provides personalized customer service, learns and explains banking products and services, supports digital banking tools, and identifies customer needs to recommend suitable solutions. The role includes teller and cash-handling activities, account and consumer loan product servicing, sales and marketing outreach, community engagement, and compliance with bank policies, security protocols, and regulatory requirements. The employee may support nearby branches within approximately 45 miles as business needs require.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant retail sales and/or customer service experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible or extended hours based on retail branch needs.
Proactive approach to seeking business outside the branch.
Openness to direct coaching and feedback.
Ability to solve problems, maintain composure, and convey a positive attitude when interacting with customers and internal team members.
Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, products, services, policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and sales and service processes.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, follow directions, and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to prioritize workload and multitask accurately in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail.
Ability to understand instructions, forms, and applications, and familiarity with financial statements and credit reports.
Ability to maintain a mobile device compatible with the Cisco Duo app for secure authentication.

Responsibilities

Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions while taking responsibility for strong retail performance.
Work toward individual sales goals through proactive customer conversations, referrals, and marketing outreach inside and outside the branch.
Resolve customer inquiries or concerns at the first point of contact, involving internal partners as needed to ensure timely resolution.
Process transactions and open accounts accurately while following bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Create warm, welcoming, and personalized interactions with customers.
Discuss customers’ financial needs and explain retail banking products, services, and digital solutions in an understandable way.
Provide dependable and efficient service with professionalism and a positive attitude in a fast-paced retail environment.
Support customers in using digital banking tools and platforms.
Build relationships with customers, retail partners, and community members while representing Woodforest as a neighborhood bank.
Participate in local marketing, community events, outreach activities, and in-store promotions.
Safeguard customer confidentiality, privacy, and sensitive information, and comply with bank policies, security protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Perform branch servicing duties, including teller transactions, cash handling, balancing, ordering cash, vault activities, audits, ATM servicing, and workspace upkeep.
Open and maintain deposit accounts and consumer loan products accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
Follow branch security procedures and remain vigilant in protecting the bank, customers, and team members.
Support additional retail branch duties and business needs as assigned.
Work flexible or extended hours and support nearby branches as business needs require.
