Bank Operations Supervisor - CD/IRA/Decedent

About The Position

The position will oversee and manage projects and day-to-day operations of the CD/IRA/Decedent department in Bank Operations. The CD/IRA/Decedent department acts as a resource to support the opening, maintaining, and closing of Certificate of Deposit and IRA accounts, ensuring proper documentation and transaction quality, as well as compliance with appropriate laws and regulations. This group also supports periodic government and year-end reporting activities.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years banking or management experience is required.
  • General understanding of the financial services industry and deposit-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Consistently perform in a volume driven environment where workload fluctuates, but deadlines stay the same and service levels must be met.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively on the phone and through email to internal customers and business partners.
  • Strong work ethic, critical thinking, and problems solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to escalate issues and concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform specific tasks independently.
  • Ability to use standard computer software (MS Outlook, MS Excel) and quickly learn to navigate and operate job-specific software and web-based applications.
  • High degree of reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling, planning, and defining the daily department workflow to ensure all necessary tasks are completed timely and accurately.
  • Monitoring the quality of work performed through periodic quality control reviews.
  • Leading training efforts to ensure procedures are thorough, complete, followed accurately, and that sufficient depth exists for each task.
  • Developing strategies focused on process optimization.
  • Working with internal and external partners to meet business objectives.
  • Extensive personnel responsibilities including coaching, counseling, hiring, and ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Aggregating and manipulating data into reports, drawing conclusions and identifying trends that lead to business improvements.
  • Learning, configuring, and optimizing the software applications used to support daily tasks.
  • Managing projects and facilitating product and process changes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
