About The Position

Terzo Enterprises is a logistics company specializing in the repair, refurbishment, and re-manufacturing of pallets. We are seeking a Bandsaw Operator for our 1st and 2nd shifts to join our team. This role involves operating a mechanical bandsaw to cut and remove damaged lumber from wood pallets in a fast-paced, indoor, year-round work environment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Ability to lift and handle wood pallets that weigh 75-85 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a mechanical Smart Saw/band saw to cut/remove damaged lumber as needed in the refurbishing of wood pallets.
  • Meet fast-paced production requirements and established daily and weekly production targets.
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is used at all times while performing job duties.
  • Operate the mechanical bandsaw in the CB or TD process.
  • Perform basic adjustments to the machine, including changing saw blades, table adjustments, and ensuring all safety guards are in place.
  • Demonstrate proper cutting techniques to maximize blade usage and minimize stress on the equipment.
  • Track production on required forms.
  • Clean bandsaw operating area and restock lumber at the end of every shift.
  • Inspect the pallet to determine if the Connector Board is broken across the width.
  • Determine if the pallet has 3 broken Connector Boards and set aside for teardown approval.
  • Position the pallet and align the bandsaw blade where the correct Connector Board(s) will be properly cut out for replacement.
  • Remove ALL defective component(s) and throw them in the scrap wood bins.
  • Gather all needed components and position them in the pallet and align components so that the Connector Board(s) are placed where they are going to get repaired.
  • Ensure pallets that need to be torn down or scrapped are properly identified in accordance with the standard operating procedure and the provided allocation.
  • Segregate pallets identified for scrap or teardown, so they do not re-enter the working pool.
  • Tear down the pallet and recover as many usable lumber components as possible.
  • Document all reclaimed lumber from the torn-down pallet on a daily production form.
  • May be required to work daily overtime and occasional Saturdays.
  • Performs other duties as required.
