About The Position
Apache Workforce is hiring experienced Machine Operators or Band Saw Operators for a leading industrial manufacturing team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various fabrication machinery, including HYDMECH band saws, CNC equipment, plasma tables, and laser cutters. The position involves operating machinery, reading blueprints, performing precise measurements and cuts, managing CNC programs, inspecting finished products, basic troubleshooting, and maintaining production records. Safety and adherence to OSHA regulations are paramount.
Requirements
- 2+ years of machine operation or fabrication experience
- Experience operating one or more of the following: HYDMECH Band Saws, CNC Equipment, Plasma Cutters, Laser Cutters, Lathes, Milling Machines, Grinders, Robotic Welding Equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills for production documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Safety-first mindset

Responsibilities
- Safely operate HYDMECH band saws and other fabrication equipment
- Operate plasma cutters, laser cutters, CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, grinders, and robotic welding equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, cut lists, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Measure, mark, and cut materials with precision
- Load CNC programs and adjust machine settings, including speeds, gas settings, torch height, and stops
- Inspect finished cuts to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve machine or cutting issues
- Understand beam geometry, nesting, and structural material layouts
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move materials
- Complete routine machine maintenance and inspections
- Maintain production records and inventory documentation
- Keep work areas clean and organized using 5S principles
- Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures
