About The Position

This position will be responsible for all set up and operation of machines in the designated department. The role involves securing proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs, accurately setting up the bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of the machine. The operator will stack finished product according to factory master, ensuring each unit has the correct cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags, and that the correct materials are used to meet customer specifications. Quality monitoring and reporting of quality issues to the Operator are key responsibilities, as is ensuring correct bundle and unit counts and reporting the final count to the operator. The role also requires completing necessary reports accurately and timely, submitting maintenance work orders for needed repairs, and being proactive in equipment maintenance. Adherence to all company safety policies and reporting of any concerns related to required machine maintenance are essential. Special projects may be assigned as business dictates, and duties may be expanded upon or changed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions including reading a tape measure, and blueprints.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented and self-directed.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Secure proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs.
  • Set-up bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Stack finished product in accordance with factory master.
  • Ensure each unit has proper top and bottom cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags.
  • Ensure correct materials are used to meet customer specifications.
  • Monitor quality and report quality problems to Operator.
  • Ensure correct bundle and unit counts.
  • Report final count of piece unit to operator.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
  • Meet all company safety policies and report any concerns related to required maintenance of machines.
  • Perform special projects as business dictates.
