About The Position
Morristown is seeking a full-time band/music teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will include teaching courses at the elementary and secondary level. Courses will include junior high and high school concert band, elementary music, and could include other courses depending on areas of expertise and licensure. This position will also oversee the high school marching band and pep band.
Requirements
- Valid Indiana teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
- Strong background in instrumental music content and instruction
- Knowledge of best practices to meet the individual needs of students at a variety of skill levels
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators
- Able to make data-informed decisions that will build upon each child’s area of strengths and needs
- Ability to incorporate technology effectively to support learning and instruction
- Highly organized
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated
Responsibilities
- Teaching junior high and high school concert band
- Teaching elementary music
- Teaching other courses depending on areas of expertise and licensure
- Overseeing the high school marching band
- Overseeing the high school pep band
