About The Position

Perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the ballistics department. Ballistics: Testing of energetic and inert projectiles, typically bullets, missiles and bombs. Under general supervision; completes intermediate technical and mechanical procedures, regularly interacts with clients, troubleshoots and reworks standard tests. Intermediate interpretation and analysis of test results Comprehensive knowledge of ballistics & mechanical principles, working knowledge of basic safety practices Able to use all standard Ballistics equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data; able to understand AC/DC circuits Basic MS Office skills.

• HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS OR trade school for ballistics testing certificate OR military ballistics training strongly preferred
• 2+ Years of experience

Responsibilities

• Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment
• Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
• After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager
• Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned
