Requirements

  • Must speak, read and write in English.
  • No experience needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Push loaded dumpster onto stand when dumpster is elevated to stand height.
  • Lift barrels of scrap onto conveyor belt (Full barrels weigh up to 45 lbs).
  • Visual acuity (up to 30 ft.) in order to see end of conveyer belt clearly to spot congestions.
  • Physical coordination to operate forklift.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
  • Accepting this position means entering a role that is part of our defined Succession Program.
  • Demonstrate continuous growth and readiness to advance to the next level.
  • Completing required training, meeting performance standards, and accepting promotional movement when selected.
  • Willingness to transition to the night shift if required for advancement within the succession path.

Responsibilities

  • Loading bale machine with paper scrap and tying up condensed scrap.
  • Loading paper scrap onto conveyor belt of bale machine.
  • Wrapping baled scrap with metal straps.
  • Weighing bales of scrap and filling out inventory tag to be attached to bale.
  • Stacking all bales according to grade.
  • Loading bales onto trailer beds for shipping.
