About The Position

This role involves separating various recyclable materials such as scrap metal, wood, cardboard, plastics, and styrofoam. The position requires baling plastic and cardboard, and disposing of non-recyclable materials to their correct locations. The job also includes operating recycling balers and equipment, processing materials after they have been baled, and performing other duties as assigned. Safety is paramount, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety protocols.

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger motion, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb stairs and talk or hear.
• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
