About The Position

Cornerstone Co-op is seeking a full-time Bakery Supervisor to join our team in St. Paul, Alberta. This role reports to the Bakery Manager and is responsible for engaging with customers, providing leadership to the bakery team, and assisting with various department operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, promote safe food handling, and support team member development. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis, and adherence to the Co-operative’s vision, mission, and values.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of bakery operations, merchandising, inventory control and food safety.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Action oriented, customer focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Organized with proficient time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and able to manage files and administrative documentation.
  • Demonstrates honesty, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous bakery experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Bakery team to ensure a highly productive atmosphere.
  • Assist the Bakery Manager with all department operations including ordering, receiving, inventory management, merchandising and shrink control.
  • Assist Bakery Manager with performance management for the Bakery department.
  • Assist Bakery Manager with sales and margin targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Food Safety regulations, sanitation standards, department cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.
  • Promote and model safe food handling practices and workplace cleanliness.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management to team members while supporting their development and growth.
  • Assist and support annual planning, goal setting, budgeting, and talent management processes.
  • Assist with administrative duties and scheduling to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
  • Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, brand and focus on safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
