About The Position

Our team is seeking a Bakery Production Assistant to push our catering business to the next level. This is a seasonal position supporting our catering operations during our busiest periods. The expected duration of this role is September through December with the possibility of extension after our busy season. The schedule for this role is 20-30 hours per week. The perfect Bakery Production Assistant will have small-company energy and an ‘all for one’ attitude when it comes to completing assigned tasks independently and with a team. This candidate is excellent at production, finishing work, maintaining a clean work environment, and keeping to all timelines while working in a high-volume kitchen. Their strengths present with calm confidence in daily operation, they have the ability to complete food-based projects with or without direct supervision, and they find motivation in the ‘why’ we deliver excellence at every level. Our ideal candidate: Is approachable and balanced Ensures finishing requirements are met to the highest standards Reads and understands recipes, measurements, and general kitchen equipment Has the ability to gather food ingredients and supplies from walk-in or freezer units Always looks to improve communal areas such as walk-in or dry storage Has accountability to results and takes initiative on cleaning projects

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering company
  • Open availability must be able to work weekends
  • Proficiency in basic baking and finishing work
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours at a time

Responsibilities

  • Prep food according to company recipes and standards
  • Produces recipes efficiently and quickly to spec
  • Finishes and pack out per timeline and specifications per BEO
  • Ability to manage timelines and production of multiple products
  • Keeps space, ingredients and paperwork organized
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
  • Load and label speed racks according to event
  • Check production counts
  • Verify ingredients prior to starting production
  • Reports to and communicates with Chef regarding menu/recipe accuracy
  • Exemplifies a working knowledge of hierarchy in a professional kitchen
  • Maintain safety and hygienic requirements by health code
