About The Position

Brookhaven Market is hiring a Full-Time Bakery Manager (onsite) for our Mokena, IL store. This role exists to keep our bakery running smoothly, beautifully, and deliciously—while you guide the team and protect the standards you already know matter. You’ll also partner with store leadership on promotions and seasonal items.

Requirements

• Bakery or food service management experience (supervisory preferred)
• Confident, motivating leadership and clear communication
• Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and inventory control
• Strong time management, prioritization, and detail focus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Leading bakery clerks
• Setting production plans
• Managing inventory and costs
• Building attention-grabbing displays
• Supporting customers with special requests
• Maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Partnering with store leadership on promotions and seasonal items
• Checking the case and the day’s bake plan
• Doing quick huddles to get everyone in rhythm
• Proofing, pulling product, and keeping the floor looking sharp
• Answering a cake question
• Fine-tuning a display
• Making sure the next waves are ready
• Ensuring product stays fresh
• Keeping the department tidy
• Keeping things moving during the rush
• Stepping in where needed
• Setting the team up for tomorrow
