The Bakery Manager champions corporate and division customer service programs, plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department. This role involves ensuring compliance with product quality, sanitation, safety, and security standards. The manager oversees and assists with all bakery duties, implements promotional displays, controls shrink and expenses, and maintains accurate records. They are responsible for ordering, checking, receiving, and controlling inventory to ensure product quality and freshness, as well as stocking and rotating products. The manager ensures proper merchandising, complies with labeling laws and regulations, and follows company policy for handling quick sale items and food safety standards. Additionally, they assist customers with special orders, make product suggestions, and engage in suggestive selling. The role also includes ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of the sales floor and work areas, handling customer relations, and attending required training and meetings. The manager implements emergency procedures, supervises, motivates, directs, trains, and participates in hiring Bakery Department personnel, monitors associate performance, and schedules staff for adequate coverage. They communicate sales goals and department performance to associates and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. The manager resolves associate complaints, reports policy violations, and identifies associates with high potential for advancement. They also handle incoming calls, resolve customer complaints, and perform all job duties with honesty and integrity.
