About The Position

Franz Family Bakery is seeking Bakery Maintenance Engineers to join their hard-working and fast-paced team. Bakery Maintenance Engineers will perform required repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned in an orderly, timely, and cost-conscious manner on a variety of bakery production equipment, freezers, and/or facilities. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical components of bakery equipment to minimize downtime and ensure productivity. The position requires adherence to company GMPs, working safely and efficiently, and maintaining accurate records of work performed. The role also involves responding to maintenance calls with urgency and providing emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all pieces of equipment within the bakery, including production equipment and mechanical/electrical components.
Maintain equipment productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions.
Perform tasks within rigid time frames to maximize bakery product productivity.
Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and follow company GMPs.
Work in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventative maintenance reports.
Prepare specific and accurate parts request forms.
Respond to maintenance and line stoppage calls with a sense of urgency and ownership.
Provide emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
Perform duties in all areas within the maintenance department.
Provide technical assistance and information to the Engineering management team.
Display initiative in recognizing work to be accomplished and make recommendations to Chief Engineer.
Perform additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
