About The Position

The Bakery Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring machines are clean, organized, and operating according to standard operating procedures. This role requires basic bakery knowledge to understand the 'why' behind operations, not just the 'how'. The operator must ensure effective handovers with maintenance and the next shift, reporting all faults and issues. The primary goal is to drive the production process to meet customer specifications, quality, and food safety standards, while achieving targeted outputs through effective control of the manufacturing process. This role also involves maintaining health and safety requirements, promoting a positive safety culture, and embodying the company's way of working through its operating model and core values. Key responsibilities include coordinating the day-to-day efforts of the local work team, managing breaks, lunches, and rotations, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure machines are clean, organized, and operating correctly.
  • Use limited water when cleaning with the 'clean as you go' principle.
  • Ensure correct use, storage, and set up of all equipment.
  • Ensure effective hand over with Maintenance and next shift, reporting all faults and issues.
  • Drive the production process to ensure products meet customer specification, quality, and food safety.
  • Ensure production meets targeted outputs through effective control of the manufacturing process.
  • Communicate effectively with the entire team.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained.
  • Represent The Froneri Way of working through behaviors and characteristics in the Operating Model and Core Values.
  • Walk the talk always using the looking eyes, attend to issues as and when they happen.
  • Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees.
  • Follow the principle of 'will I do this to my home?'.
  • Coordinate local work team's day to day efforts - controlling breaks, lunches and rotations.
  • De-kitting the line and making sure all packaging is returned to the warehouse.
  • Ensuring line is checked after being cleaned and all tools are stored in the correct places.
  • No stagnant water left in any equipment.
