Bakery Lead Sales Clerk Reports To: Bakery Manager Are you enthusiastic about bakery and passionate about providing exceptional customer service? As a Bakery Lead Sales Clerk, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Bakery department delivers an enjoyable shopping experience every day. Our bakery plays a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for guests' events and everyday moments alike, ranging from special occasions to everyday indulgences.

Requirements

  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide outstanding customer service and work effectively with guests and team members.
  • Communication Skills : Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Service Expertise: Knowledge of retail food service, bakery and pastry operations, with a strong understanding of food service standards and practices.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and safety policies to handle equipment and recognize and react potential hazards effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Teach: Coach and support our sales/service clerks by reinforcing Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations. Train new team members and prepare weekly schedules for clerks.
  • Deliver Helpful Service: Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need, will make a positive impact every day.
  • Provide Feedback: Conduct performance reviews, document any policy violations, and advise the Department Manager on corrective actions. Provide guidance and answer questions to all Bakery department associates.
  • Ensure Excellence: Ensure all sales floor department standards are met. Monitor sales floor conditions, correct any issues, and maintain eye-catching displays.
  • Offer Assistance: Assist customers with finding items, taking cake and special orders, and providing top-notch service. Handle phone inquiries with care and support Bakery Clerks with packaging, pricing, labeling, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Maintain Standards: Keep supplies replenished, ensure food safety logs are maintained, and meet quality standards. Ensure quantity expectations are met by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Deliver Quality and Food Safety: Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, and maintain food safety logs.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned
