About The Position

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. This position is for a Photo Cake Specialist. The estimated pay range is $17.75-18.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. The candidate must be at least 18 years old. Photo Cake Specialists decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts according to standards and customer preferences with an attention for detail.

Responsibilities

Fulfillment of special orders
Design and produce custom photo cakes using edible imaging and decorating techniques
Decorate cakes with icing, piping, and finishing touches based on customer requests
Prepare and mix various icings, fillings, and frostings according to company recipes
Fill and finish pastries such as cannolis and other bakery items
Assist with general bakery production, including cake assembly and preparation
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment in compliance with health and safety standards
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly about custom orders and timelines, assisting in design decisions, etc.
Ensure all products meet Stew Leonard’s quality and presentation standards
