About The Position

Cellone’s Italian Bread Co. is looking for bakers to join their team at their 110,000 sq ft commercial bakery in Pittsburgh, PA. Founded in 1911, Cellone's bakes fresh Italian breads and rolls. This role requires passing a drug test and background check. A medical marijuana card must be presented if applicable. The Pan Bench operator is responsible for ensuring proper dough scaling into pans before final proofing and for the successful operation of the peel board reciprocator. This position requires understanding and adherence to all applicable regulations (GMPs, quality systems, etc.) and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Ability to read and comprehend instruments and gauge settings.
Ability to visually assess for imperfections and quality issues and determine the source.
Use eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills necessary to adjust product length and correct issues.
Ability to multi-task using visual acuity and flexibility.
Proficiency in English communication to follow safety and operational instructions.
Basic math proficiency.
Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of each pan product raw weight and size.
Ability to correctly calibrate pan divider to scale dough into pans per product specifications.
Correct set up of guides.
Ability to promptly diagnose and troubleshoot production flow issues such as pans overlapping.
Handle product changeovers efficiently and accurately.
Knowledge of environmental factors affecting dough and adjustments required to retain quality (i.e. humidity).
Responds quickly to quality or equipment issues and reports these to Shift Supervisor – Baking immediately.
Maintains clean work area.
Follows GMPs, safety standards, and company policies.
