Bakery Assistant
About The Position
Rocky Top Catering is a full-service catering company known for creating memorable food experiences across the Triangle. From large-scale events to intimate gatherings, our team is passionate about quality, creativity, and delivering exceptional service. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bakery Assistant to join our team. This role supports our pastry and bakery operations by assisting with production, preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Ideal for someone who enjoys baking, works well in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in consistency and presentation. Shifts will be 2-3 mornings a week Monday-Friday.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
Nice To Haves
- Previous bakery, pastry, or kitchen experience preferred (but not required)
- Passion for baking and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and production of baked goods, desserts, and pastries
- Follow recipes and production schedules accurately
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients
- Support chefs with decorating, finishing, and plating items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and bakery areas
- Properly store ingredients and finished products
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with packing and labeling for events as needed
