About The Position

As a baker, you will work under the direction of the Pastry Chef to provide quality baked goods throughout the resort. Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is continually looking for the best, those who share a passion for these mountains and the outdoors. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Food Handler Permit.
• Must demonstrate competency in reading writing and arithmetic and have the basic knowledge of culinary terms and knife skills.
• In addition, must demonstrate ability to learn recipes, handle all kitchen equipment, and learn basic kitchen techniques.
• Candidate must have the ability to multitask and prep several items at once while accepting directions from the Chef or Sous Chef.
• Position requires exercise of judgment within policy guidelines, problem solving and initiation of activities written job description and responsibility limitations.
• Also requires understanding of other Snowbird operations.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time in the proper uniform.
• Ensure standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis.
• Maintain good safety practices of employees throughout the kitchen.
• Participate in on-going employee training.
• Take part in all incentive programs.
• Maintain line of communication between Chef, Sous Chef and other kitchen staff.
• Complete daily duties before and after shift.
• Assist Pastry chef.
