About The Position

The primary objective of this Baker position is to produce bakery products, ensuring consistent product quality and meeting daily production needs. The role emphasizes developing baking proficiency with all products and requires ongoing judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, listening skills, math, bakery equipment operation, exposure to heat, and standing. Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs, with assignments and work direction provided by the Bakery Manager or person in charge.

Requirements

  • Lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 550 lbs.
  • Equipment operation (scales, knives, oven, bread slicer, labeler,cleaning utensils)
  • Stooping, bending, walking on uneven ground, turning, standing, reaching, kneeling, climbing ladders, crawling
  • Judgment/decision making
  • Social skills/verbal interaction
  • Listening skills
  • Reading, writing, math
  • Memorization

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper proofing
  • Determine when items are fully proofed
  • Ensure oven space for proofed items
  • Complete oven work
  • Ensure proper oven space
  • Monitor proper baking time and temperature for product
  • Complete next day preparations
  • Pull frozen product to be done early next morning
  • Assist in all other bakery areas
  • Stock and wrap
  • Assist customers with questions and requests
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Ensure that proper inventory levels exist
  • Communicate supply level
  • Follow all store and department policies and procedures
