About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Food Services department is currently seeking a Part- Time Baker who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience. The ideal candidate must have strong Customer service skills as well as the ability to work at the front counter of the bakery and operate the POS system when needed. Under general supervision, the Part-time Baker is responsible for various aspects of the bakery, including the scratch and par-baking of all baked goods, decorating cookies, cakes, and other desserts. Additionally, the individual will assist full-time bakers and managers in developing new baked goods and menu options, while monitoring all baked goods for appearance, display, temperature, quality, and portion control.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier
• Have the physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work on their feet for 8 hours a day
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of experience working in a bakery or related experience
• Strong Customer service skills
• Possesses a strong drive and an eagerness to take on new responsibilities and challenges
• Keeps a positive attitude and promotes such attitude to staff
