The Baker is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists. This includes preparing ingredients such as portioning, chopping, and storing food before use, and safely and appropriately using baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances to prepare baked foods. The role requires strict adherence to food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene, checking and ensuring correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and reporting any issues to management. Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen area, setting up and breaking down workstations, and complying with sanitation and cleaning procedures are also key. The Baker monitors the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout their shift. Additionally, the position requires compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and security, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions, completing safety training, and maintaining a professional appearance. The Baker must also uphold confidentiality, protect company assets, communicate professionally, foster positive working relationships, and meet quality expectations. Physical demands include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, moving over various surfaces, reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.
