Baker's Helper/Display Cook #5, Claflin
About The Position
This position is open to both internal and external applicants. The role involves working as a Baker's Helper in Claflin on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and as a Grill Cook at Bates kitchen on Saturdays and Sundays. The job requires providing high-quality customer service, transforming bulk mixes into oven-ready products, assisting with product finishing, and performing shipping duties. The Baker's Helper will operate various shop equipment and appliances, participate in daily cleaning, and adhere to all state and local food service regulations, including ServSafe and NSF standards. This position is classified as essential personnel and requires reporting to work during inclement weather or other emergencies if scheduled.
Requirements
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must possess current ServSafe certifications or equivalent documentation.
- Must have training in baking specifically in cake decorating.
- Will be required to successfully complete a written and practical exam relative to the position.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer’s sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Function as a Baker’s Helper in Claflin on Monday, Thursday & Friday.
- Work as a Grill Cook at Bates kitchen on Saturday & Sunday.
- Transform bulk mixes etc. to oven ready form following standard recipes and procedures.
- Assist with the finishing of products and shipping duties of number four.
- Operate a variety of shop equipment and appliances in the preparation and service of the bakeshop products.
- Participate in daily cleaning and in other duties as assigned by manager or lead baker on duty.
- Comply with all state and local food service regulations, including practicing ServSafe and NSF standards.
