About The Position

Starbucks Reserve is responsible for stewarding the Starbucks Reserve brand within a portfolio of unique flagship locations. Starbucks Reserve Stores and Culinary Kitchens across the US. Starbucks Reserve Kitchen teams use their knowledge and expertise to craft fresh food offerings with impeccable ingredients to inspire and delight customers in our Reserve & Roastery locations. These are energetic environments for culinary ambassadors who want to deliver consistent quality in handcrafted foods such as pastries, cakes, focaccia-style pizza and artisanal baked breads. Summary This position contributes to Reserve Kitchen’s success by performing a variety of baking duties in the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and other pastries. This position assists the Head Baker and Lead Baker in production planning and execution while ensuring compliance with quality and sanitation requirements. Partner must model and act in accordance with Starbucks principles and company policies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years baking in a professional kitchen – commercial kitchen a plus (required)
  • Current Health Code Certification (as per State and Local DOH requirements) (preferred)
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry 35lbs on a consistent basis and up to 55lbs occasionally
  • Ability to adhere to strict personal hygiene and standards of dress consistent with policy
  • Attention to Detail
  • Passion for learning culinary arts
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while executing at a high level
  • Competent knife skills
  • Data entry; Basic working knowledge of computers
  • Basic Math and English skill

Responsibilities

  • Prepares designated bakery items based on established recipes.
  • Executes daily production lists and maintains Reserve and Starbucks Gold Standard
  • Receives ingredients and other supplies from the main kitchen and/or pantry as required for daily operation
  • Ability to use mixers such as spiral, twin arm, Planetary (Hobart), dough sheeters, dough dividers/molders and scales.
  • Familiarity with the metric and standard weight systems.
  • Cuts and weighs dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in pans; proofs dough and bakes in oven using peel; inspects product for quality during and after baking and adjusts processes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
