Smarte Carte is seeking a Baggage Storage Supervisor for their location at JFK John F Kennedy International Airport. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and outstanding benefits. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Ability to get Airport Badge is required
  • Drivers License is required
  • Lift 40lbs
  • Push/pull 75lbs
  • Walk & stand for duration of shift
  • Computer and Smart Phone proficient
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Cash control experience preferred
  • Technologically adept and receptive to learn computer-based reporting tools.
  • Ability to stay poised and professional in high pressure situations.
  • Capable of focusing on the “Big Picture” rather than immediate short-term effects.
  • Ability to apply the appropriate level of workplace flexibility.
  • Receptive to criticism and feedback from your team in order to improve the operation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by monitoring safety procedures.
  • Process bags stored and picked up.
  • Process lost and found items.
  • Provide customer service to all customers.
  • Keeping the work area clean.
  • Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
  • Explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
  • Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain excellent communication and cooperation with employees, facility management, airline management and other government officials (CBP, TSA, etc.).
  • Assist with collections, counting/recording money.
  • Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
