About The Position

The Omni Providence is a landmark hotel in Rhode Island, located in the exciting city of Providence. This hotel is attached to the Rhode Island Convention Center, Amica Mutual Pavilion, and the Providence Place Mall, placing guests within walking distance of the city's attractions. While the Omni Providence is a beautiful Convention Hotel, its associates are what truly set it apart. Requirements

  • Must be able to work nights/weekends/holidays
  • TIPS certification or equivalent required
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 150lbs
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required

Responsibilities

  • Set up, brew, and break down all aspects of the brewing process in safe and efficient compliance with proper food handling, policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.
  • Report any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.
  • Brew coffee/ice tea according to events scheduled for each day and restock as needed.
  • Empty and clean all machines at the end of each work shift.
  • Communicate with Banquet kitchen to ensure proper timing for food events.
  • Deliver food from kitchen to necessary floors per events occurring.
  • Complete the distribution of plated meals from Kitchen hotbox to Banquet Serving trays.
  • Clean and mop the floors and working area before the end of each shift.
  • Read and understand Banquet Event Orders and complete Requisition sheet for next event day to ensure proper preparation for events.
  • Be on time and at work when scheduled, and in proper uniform.
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.
  • Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters of significance to manager/supervisor so that corrective measures may be taken.
  • Comply with policies and procedures.
  • Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
  • Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned.
  • Check with manager/supervisor before leaving work area for any reason.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as requested by management.
