About The Position

The Backup Administrative Coordinator position at Sprouts Farmers Market is for individuals who are passionate about organization and thrive in fast-paced environments. As part of a rapidly growing natural foods retailer, this role requires attention to detail while supporting shoppers and team members in a friendly, active office atmosphere. The primary responsibilities include conducting in-store accounting procedures to meet financial reporting requirements. In the absence of the Administrative Coordinator, this role is responsible for all cash and funds control according to Sprouts policies and procedures. Additionally, the Backup Administrative Coordinator will verify the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings related to business transactions recorded by other employees.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma at a minimum
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including night, weekends and holidays
  • Be detail-oriented to avoid making errors and to recognize errors made by others
  • Be able to be responsible for cash handling and security in the office area
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Be discreet and trustworthy due to frequent contact with confidential material
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
  • Have a strong aptitude for numbers
  • Be able to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment
  • Be proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and perform several tasks at the same time or one after the other with ease and professionalism
  • Have the availability to cover Administrative Coordinator absences and must be able to work weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in business or accounting
  • Knowledge of specialized bookkeeping or accounting software

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in–store accounting procedures necessary to meet the company’s financial reporting requirements
  • Be responsible for all cash and funds control pursuant to Sprouts policies and procedures (in the absence of the Administrative Coordinator)
  • Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers
  • Be responsible for cash handling and security in the office area
  • Correctly prepare all daily and weekly sales and cash reports
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ensure standards of customer service are met
  • Ensure all store functions are completed correctly and on time
  • Maintain current knowledge of office procedures and policies relating to cash reports, register checkups, deposits, and checks
  • Cover Administrative Coordinator absences
  • Execute other duties as needed
