About The Position

The Backroom Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with customers and embodying the company’s customer experience principles. The role supports a clean, organized, and safe store environment and adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. Associates may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The position includes customer service and checkout tasks, processing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising and recovery standards, and supporting store shrink-reduction and safety programs. Associates are expected to contribute to a positive store culture and respond effectively to feedback and changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns, and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the company’s merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain and clean the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
