About The Position

US Foods is seeking Backhaul Drivers to join their team. This role involves bumping docks and earning $33/HR. US Foods is a leading food distributor with a culture of internal promotion, excellent training, and a focus on continuous improvement. The Backhaul Driver will safely drive trucks to vendors and company drop-off sites, verify freight, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. They may also be called upon to perform duties of a Rescue or Delivery Driver, which could include unloading and customer deliveries.

Requirements

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
• Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
• Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
• May be called upon to perform duties of Rescues or Delivery Driver. Tasks would include unloading and customer deliveries.
