About The Position

US Foods is seeking Backhaul Drivers to join their team. This role involves safely driving trucks to vendors and company drop-off sites, verifying freight, and ensuring trailer temperatures are correct. Drivers will return the tractor and trailer to the division upon route completion and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Requirements

Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required
Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
Must be able to perform coupling procedures for the Tractor/Trailer

Responsibilities

Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
