Peraton is seeking to fill a critical role for a full-time experienced background investigator near Fort Lauderdale, FL. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of the city center of Fort Lauderdale. The Investigator will be responsible for traveling daily to conduct in-person background investigations to determine employment suitability for individuals requiring access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information. This includes scheduling and conducting face-to-face interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, and friends, as well as performing record searches at various institutions like police agencies, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities. Investigators are required to document all findings clearly and concisely in reports using a government-issued computer system. The role involves working independently and as part of a team with a Field Manager, requiring professional interaction, extended periods of writing, attention to detail, and maintaining high levels of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity. Professional attire is mandatory.
