About The Position

Garney is hiring a Backfill Operator. The role operates machinery to perform excavation, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final cleanup. The operator may also perform laborer duties as required. Previous construction experience is required. Applicants may be required to complete a post-offer physical and a site-specific background check.

Requirements

Previous construction experience.
Two to five years of construction experience.
Firm knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
Must be willing to work overtime and travel.

Responsibilities

Backfill the ditch properly after the pipe is laid.
Perform backfilling safely as part of a crew.
Perform operator-level maintenance on the machine.
Move trench boxes from the ditch.
Operate machinery for excavation, backfilling, trenching, ditching, clearing, looming, fine grading, and final cleanup.
Perform laborer functions as required.
