About The Position

BJAK is looking for backend engineers to build the core systems behind its AI Neobank app. This role is for engineers who can build reliable APIs, workflows, and financial product infrastructure that can scale across markets, partners, and millions of users. BJAK started in 2019 with the mission to enable people to plan, save, and grow their money. They built the first mobile-first insurance platform in Southeast Asia and are now expanding to help people with spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and traveling. The company has a diverse global team and seeks talented, driven individuals who are passionate about building next-generation financial products and redefining financial applications for everyone.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design, and production debugging.
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems.
• Good understanding of security, reliability, data quality, and operational edge cases.
• Able to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality, and risk.
• Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations, and business teams.
• Strong English communication is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking, or regulated products is a strong advantage.
• Candidates must be based in Ireland.
• Candidates who complete assessments quickly will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank app.
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel, and financial services.
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications, and operations.
• Work with product and mobile teams to ship customer-facing journeys quickly.
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other partners.
• Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance.
• Build systems that are practical, auditable, and ready for regulated financial products.
