About the position
The Quality Platform team at Addepar is seeking a backend software engineer to join their team. The role involves building a new vertical that analyzes incoming portfolio data in real-time to identify and resolve anomalies. The engineer will work with Python and Spark to perform large-scale analyses and collaborate with various teams across the organization. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science or a similar field, at least 2 years of experience as a software engineer, and proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience with Spark and Terraform is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain engineering solutions to tackle sophisticated problems
- Write well-designed, testable code
- Manage individual project priorities and deadlines
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders on projects
- Communicate technical ideas and set direction on projects with a focus on solving business challenges
- Document software functionality, system design, and project plans
- Collaborate with other engineers and adapt and learn
- Experience in SQL and relational databases schema modeling
- Act like an owner and think and operate with intention and purpose
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2+ years experience as a professional software engineer, preferably in Python
- Experience in SQL and relational databases schema modeling
- Proven ability to collaborate with other engineers and adapt and learn
- Experience with Spark or any distributed computing paradigm is a plus
