About the position
As an early member of the engineering team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in key decisions that shape the product and system design. This role requires wearing multiple hats and learning new things as you collaborate with the team to design, build, and launch new products. The focus will be on architecting a new product and platform, building reliable and scalable backend systems, writing testable code, and researching frameworks and tools to increase development speed. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of development experience, and proficiency in languages like Go, JavaScript, or Python are required.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Backend Engineering leadership to architect a brand new product and platform
- Design and build new backend systems, focused on reliability and extensibility
- Write and review testable, scalable code
- Research and evaluate key frameworks and tools to increase development speed and reduce time to market
- Collaborate with product, data, design, and other engineers to understand business requirements and build a great experience for customers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years development experience
- Experience building and scaling backend systems
- Experience developing services on AWS or similar
- Proficient in Go, JavaScript, Python, or similar language
