About The Position

Replay is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Replay provides the primary source of real, de-identified enterprise data for frontier AI labs. The company has a multi-eight-figure run rate and is backed by Floodgate and Afore, with a team of 14 people and $5.5M in funding. This role involves building and scaling multi-stage, high-volume pipelines for de-identifying enterprise data from sources like Slack, Gmail, Drive, and code. The engineer will own backend systems end-to-end, ensuring correctness and safe recovery through mechanisms like safe retries, checkpoints, backfills, and rollbacks across various orchestration and storage systems. They will also develop internal tooling and dashboards for pipeline performance and data quality, and collaborate with ML, full-stack, platform, and security teams on new data modalities.

Requirements

3-10 years of Software Engineering experience
Personal ownership of production backend systems
Experience with Python
Experience with AWS services (Airflow, AWS Batch, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL)
On-site presence in Dumbo, Brooklyn (5 days a week, non-negotiable)
